Issue / QuestionAndroid 13: how to mass deploy DataWedge configuration via OEMConfig?
Applicable ToAndroid 13 and later, Zebra OEMConfig Powered by MX 11.9.1.4 and Up, DataWedge
Resolution / Answer

Procedure:

  1. Log in to SOTI MobiControl console.
  2. Install the application, Zebra OEMConfig Powered by MX (com.zebra.oemconfig) from Managed Google Play Store. Read More>>

  1. Enable Managed App Config for Zebra OEMConfig Powered by MX.

  1. Download DataWedge configuration (datawedge.db) to target device(s) internal storage /sdcard.

Important:

  • As explained in TechDocs - DataWedge, Do not rename the exported file or manually edit the database file contents. Doing so will result in errors and import failure.

Option 2: Use Zebra OEMConfig Powered by MX - Files Configuration.

  • Device Path And Name: /sdcard/datawedge.db
    • Download Options> Download Option Type: On Server
  • Download Server URI: http://172.27.0.1/datawedge.db (file server address where datawedge.db is stored (for this article, the file server used was a web/ HTTP server).

  1. Enable DataWedge Automatic Database Import using Zebra OEMConfig Powered by MX - DataWedge Configuration.

  • UI Configuration> DataWedge Configuration>
    • Database File: /sdcard/datawedge.db
    • Automatic Database Import: Allow

  1. After a successful deployment, the DataWedge application will be configured.
