Importing DataWedge Settings Using StageNow

Procedure:
 

NOTE

1. Download and install DataWedge and StageNow on your device.

2. As explained in TechDocs - DataWedge, Do not rename the exported file or manually edit the database file contents. Doing so will result in errors and import failure.

3. Android 11 Note: Due to Android Scoped Storage Restrictions, files CANNOT be deployed using an EMM system to the internal (/enterprise/device/settings/datawedge/autoimport) folder or to removable device media. Zebra recommends using /enterprise/device/settings/datawedge or /data/tmp/public device folders and updating deployment paths accordingly.

 
DataWedge Settings
 

  1. Open DataWedge on your device and configure it as needed.
  2.  Once done with the configuration, export the settings following the steps below:
  3. Select the three-dot ellipsis and select Settings.

  1. Under DataWedge Settings, select Export.

StageNow Settings
 

  1. Open StageNow on your PC, and click + Create new Profile.

  1. Ensure to select the MX version you have on the terminal. Refer to (Settings > About device >SW components > MX > MXMF version).

  1. Select Xpert mode and click Create.

  1. You will be asked to Enter Profile name.  image.png
  2. From SETTINGS, select FileMgr by clicking on the (+). It will be added to CONFIG section. 
  3. Click Add to set the target patch and the location of the file.

  1. Your PC will act as a server, therefore your PC and devices must be on the same network. Perform the steps below: 
    1. File Action: Transfer/Copy file
    2. Target Path and File Name:  /enterprise/device/settings/datawedge/autoimport/datawedge.db
    3. Source File URI (source path and file) i.e C:\datawedge.db

  1. Click Continue to complete the profile.
  2. The next window displays the StageNow client depending on your scan engine 1D or 2D. 
NOTE Ensure your PC is on the same network as the terminal. You can check the IP in the upper right corner.

 

  1. By clicking on Test a barcode will be generated, scan this barcode from the terminal while having the StageNow client open.
