Zebra Android Device Enrollment for 42Gears SureMDM as the Device Owner

Follow the steps below to enroll your Zebra Android device to SureMDM as the Device Owner (DO).

Create an enrollment QR code as the Device Owner (DO).
 

1. Log in to the SureMDM console. If you do not have an account, create an account at 42Gears: SureMDM.
2. Create a test group if you want to enroll the device into a specific group when the device is enrolled.

3. The group is added under Home.

4. Select the Enrollment tab from the top menu.

5. Select Create QR code.

6. Type in the Name and ensure the Select Platform is set to Android and Select Enrollment type is set to Android Enterprise Enrollment. Click Next.

 

7. Select the created group, and select the Add button.
8. Select Device Name from the drop-down menu.
9. Configure your Wi-Fi settings as highlighted in the screenshot below.
10. Click Provisioning Settings, and configure your Locale settings.

11. After you have configured the provisioning settings, click Save and Next.
12. Save the QR code returned and proceed to enroll your device as described in the next section. 

Enroll the Zebra Android device as the Device Owner (DO).

1. Start from the Factory reset status.
2. Tap 6 times on the Welcome screen.

 

NOTE  If your device does not have a camera but a 2D Imager instead, you can just scan the Enrollment QR code. Enrollment via 2D Imager supports as of Oreo BSP version 01-23-18.00-OG-U15-STD.

 

3. Connect to the Wi-Fi to download the QR code reader over the internet. After the Enrollment QR code is decoded by the QR code reader, the Android device will download and install the SureMDM NixAgent over the connected Wi-Fi.

4. Scan the Android Enterprise QR code you have created and saved from the console.

5. On the Set up your device screen, click Continue.

6. Wait for a minute, and the work profile is automatically enabled.

7. The device registered in the SureMDM server is now listed.
8. Ensure that the Android Enterprise type is Device Owner.
